The focus of this class will be on the new types of remote scams, often triggered from a phone call, or pop-up ad on the victim’s computer. We will be presenting information on how to identify these types of scams, and how to take proactive and preventive measures against these attacks. This will include the proper implementation and use of security and firewall software, as well as an understanding of the concepts and techniques employed in these attacks. We will also touch on what steps to take if you have been the target of an attack, how to secure the device, and what can be done to further protect your credit and identity. NOTE: Participants are encouraged to bring computers, laptops, etc.
